I just came back from the store mostly to see what it would be like in the middle of the day and here are my findings:

While it wasn't pandemonium it was definitely holiday busy
Toilet paper, paper towels, milk, potatoes, ground beef and carrots are mostly gone or completely gone.

Cat food, cat litter, soda, water and canned goods are A-OK.

Anxiety remains high; however, there was no indication this has given to anger which is a good sign in my honest opinion.

I was at the store around 11 am to get some lunch. They have a sandwich and soup or salad special. The vegetables and fruits section was near empty. Meat cases were also near empty. Water, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning stuff, dry food, all empty. Even the canned tuna were all gone. They closed early last night at 10 pm instead of 1 am to restock and then reopened at 8 am instead of the usual 6 am. They didn't have anything to restock with or people rushed in at 8 am and cleaned them out. There was one guy with a cart full of bottles of wines and beer. He is going to drink himself to death if he gets the virus or if we go on a national quarantine?

Everyone has the thing that makes them happy. That guy's is wine and beer. Mine is sleep and God knows I don't get enough of don't matter what I do.

Stop calling the po-po over poo-poo

Oregon police are begging residents not to call 911 over a coronavirus-related toilet paper shortage.

“It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this,” writes the Newport Oregon Police Department. “Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance.”

The coastal city’s police department also suggests alternatives for bathroom tissue including “grocery receipts, newspaper, cloth rags, lace, cotton balls and that empty toilet paper roll sitting on the holder right now.”

“Be resourceful. Be patient. There is a TP shortage. This too shall pass. Just don’t call 9-1-1. We cannot bring you toilet paper,” the cops conclude.

Regal Cinemas Closing All Theaters Starting Tomorrow Until Further Notice: Coronavirus

In sign of what many are expecting is yet to come for all theaters in the U.S., Regal Cinemas is shutting down all their locations starting Tuesday, March 17 as a precaution amid the current circumstances. All theaters will remain closed until further notice. Regal, is the second-biggest chain in the U.S. with 7,155 screens in 542 theatres in 42 states. They are the first big chain out of the top 3 to close. Many cinemas have been largely deciding to close down in compliance with local ordinances, many of which are limiting their capacity to either 50% in an auditorium, or like AM, 50 people.

As movie theaters begin to close, Universal moves some films to on-demand

Universal Pictures took the boldest Hollywood step yet in response to the coronavirus pandemic, announcing it was bringing fresh theatrical releases to cable and satellite platforms for customer rental. The news comes as theaters around the country begin to shut down to contain the spread of the disease.

The titles would be available at a suggested price of $19.99 for a 48-hour rental on various cable and satellite platforms, including Comcast, Universal’s sister company.

"Universal Pictures has a broad and diverse range of movies with 2020 being no exception. Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable,” said NBCUniversal chief executive Jeff Shell in a statement.
