Try the area of the city you live in. California already stay at home the whole state and if people don't take the order seriously, it wouldn't be long before it's martial law and total lockdown.

its still a hoax. flu stil killing more ppl. its sad how ppl sucrificed freedom so easy cuz not important virus. my biggest issue with it is that they shot down porn so whores cant work and it probably will be like this till summer and that i cant watch football on tv. but it has positive aspects. when i walk outside almost no ppl around. its make me feel chill.

yeah its domino effect . one country got scared, others fallowed. bigger problem is italy. it have very old society in general. so no point to do big drama that a lot of death there... if u look at necrologs most deaths are 80+. And italy had bad economy before so it health system isnt better i guess... besides i was there few times on vacations in past years.... my god ppl are so sloppy there about everything ... if u add it all together u get simply answer why italy look like this now

for me all countries should lock older ppl in their houses for few months also they should take to hospitals only these who have pehnomia ,rest should stay at home and cure like on flu and all the rest things should stay normal

UK pubs and restaurants told to shut in virus fight

Cafes, pubs and restaurants must close from Friday night, except for take-away food, to tackle coronavirus, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said.

All the UK's nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres have also been asked to close "as soon as they reasonably can".

Mr Johnson said the situation will be reviewed each month.

The chancellor has said the government will pay 80% of wages for employees who are not working, up to £2,500 a month.

Speaking at a daily press briefing, Mr Johnson urged people not to go out on Friday night.

"For now, at least physically, we need to keep people apart," he said.

The prime minister added: "The more effectively we follow the advice we are given, the faster this country will stage both a medical and an economic recovery in full."

What really bugs me about this is the mixed messaging and lack of calm, rational thought right now. In essence, those who should be voices of reason are instead coming off like a bunch of Chicken Littles.

The last time we, as a society, were paralyzed like this was 9-11. For a few days, we were disoriented to be sure, but there were voices of reason, and logic, and even defiance. And days later, we were holding concerts, and giving the evildoers a 300,000,000 person middle finger, in essence telling everyone that you can't break our spirit, and you're not going to cause us to cower in fear.

With COVID-19, we're getting doom and gloom from all sides, as, unlike in the case of post 9-11, we've become a bipartisan society (some, anyway), where some are more concerned about finger-pointing than being beacons of hope. With each passing hour, our collective bubbles are being reduced in size, our freedoms curtailed, our movements stymied... and yes, I get that it's for the greater good. This time, it's a faceless, intangible enemy, but an enemy we know about.

We get projections and estimates that show us worst-case scenarios, instead of the kind of hope and optimism that shaped and molded this country into what it is today. We have fake news today, where we had founding fathers who crafted a set of rules and bylaws, ensuring we develop in a content and productive way. We have "experts", who can't settle in on a singular message. We have headlines, less to inform, but to continue the same kind of sensationalism uncalled for when we are supposed to drop our differences (temporarily) and unite as one people. That kind of unity has gotten us through every trial and tribulation in our country's long and storied history, be it a rolling up of our collective sleeves during World War II, or the hippies during the Vietnam War, who preached peace, and ended up being smarter than they got credit for.

But amidst all this chaos and fear, we need individuals to step up their game and tell us it's going to be alright... we'll make it through this, and we'll get back to normal before you know it. That there is an end game, and that we can see the forest through the trees. I haven't heard such voices yet, and for every day that passes without such voices coming to the forefront, we will continue to be prisoners of unknowns and assumptions, voiced by fearmongers. The continual lowering of expectations feeds panic and chaos; this is surely not the best medicine to treat we the people.

I am in the exact spot I was in on 9/11; on my couch in the den with the tv on. I was on the phone when the second plane hit the World Trade Center tower; saw it as it happened. But for me, far from New York, the biggest day of 9/11 was 9/11. But this is right here right now; and it just keeps escalating, every day it gets worse, with no real solution. On 9/11 planes were grounded. There were solutions, yeah we were all on edge, but everyday after 9/11 there were more solutions. Increase the strength of the cockpit door; increase airport screening; bomb Iraq.

I was joking about this a week ago, not anymore. Italy's hospital's are overrun. Doctor's are without supplies. And like a huge wave, all that is heading west. It's kind of like if we knew 9/11 was going to happen on 8/11; and all we could do was just watch it approach. We are so unprepared for this.

There I hope that cheered you up! I really keep hoping that something will solve this, but honestly I am currently down in the dumps and pessimistic.
