Something was seriously FUBAR about 8-9 pages ago. There was some radio object or weird vid or I don't know what that wouldn't load and my computer would just freeze up and I couldn't stop it from loading. But then I couldn't post for a few pages more, because whatever it was would show up towards the bottom of the page in the posting pane blah blah blah. So there's a few pages back there where I have NO idea what was said. Secrets to life, right?



Then in the name of all that is good and holy, please stop any more voters from voting, before a great big DISGUSTING SUCCUBUS gets another vote or 2 and somehow advances with her shitty shitty band band into the next round.


Mostly deserving artists advancing -- kind of a weaker group, more balanced ones coming. One artist who deserved a better fate IMHO is Joan Armatrading. More well known in the UK, sadly in the USA she's the kind of singer where most folks know her name, but can't name any song she did -- never had that one big hit over here. So despite a long and distinguished career, and varied styles ... eh.


I guess "Love and Affection" was probably her most well known song for the first part of her career in the 1970s, although the Sheena Easton 80's cover probably helped. I always liked the 1977 ballad "Willow", which was also used in the soundtrack to the movie Boys On The Side -- a real honest-to-goodness leave-the-penis-at-home chickflick.




Armatrading went much more straight-up "poppy" in the 1980s, with song like "Me Myself and I" and this one, maybe another song that some yanks will know, called "Drop the Pilot".

well his voice was never on par to begin with, however. he's more a poet like Leonard Cohen than anything else. I'm not normally a Tom fan myself except well the idiot in Dracula. Just it hit something raw. Had to post it. Especially since the poll was closed or technically closed. Until we get more it's more of a free for all. Except posting Barbie Girl. :P
