Robert E. "Robby" Steinhardt, a violinist and vocalist with the progressive rock band Kansas, has died due to complications from pancreatitis. He was 71.

His wife, Cindy Steinhardt, said he died Saturday at a hospital in Tampa, Florida. She announced on Facebook Monday that he had just recorded his first solo album, and had been looking forward to being back on stage and going on tour.

Steinhardt, a native of Lawrence, Kansas, was an original member of the band, teaming up with Topeka West High School graduates Kerry Livgren, Rich Williams, Phil Ehart and Dave Hope and with Steve Walsh, who grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri. Steinhardt performed with Kansas from 1973 to 1982 and 1997 to 2006, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported.

The band sold more than 15 million records and notched up seven top 40 hits, including "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry on Wayward Son."

The band, which now makes its home in Atlanta, continues to perform with Williams and Ehart as the only original remaining members.

Dusty Hill, the bassist for legendary rock and roll band ZZ Top, has died.

The group announced Hill’s passing via social media Wednesday.

“We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX,” the statement posted to Facebook said.

“We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that “Blues Shuffle in C.

“You will be missed greatly, amigo.”

On Friday, the group took to Facebook to tell fans that Hill had to take a “short detour” to address a hip issue. ZZ Top members Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard were awaiting “a speedy recovery.”

A few years after leaving Slipknot, he revealed that the reason he exited the band was a neurological disease. “I got really, really sick with a horrible disease called transverse myelitis, I lost my legs,” he told the audience at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2016.

“I couldn’t play anymore. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I got myself back up, and I got myself in the gym and I got myself back in fucking therapy, to fucking beat this shit.”

Jordison announced in 2016 that he had launched a new band called Vimic. At the time of his death, he was playing as part of extreme metal band Sinsaenum.

Jordison also played guitar in the glam horror-punk group the Murderdolls. While touring Ozzfest in 2001 in support of Slipknot’s second album, ‘Iowa’, Jordison met Tripp Eisen, then of Static-X; the two discussed forming a side project. A year later, Jordison revived his band The Rejects, renaming them the Murderdolls; he added Wednesday 13 of Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, Ben Graves and Eric Griffin.

The band put out two albums, ‘Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls’ (2002) and ‘Women And Children Last’ (2010), before Wednesday 13 confirmed in 2013 that Murderdolls had split up in 2011.

“I’ll never forget you. You changed my life forever,” Wednesday 13 tweeted in tribute to Jordison, also sharing a picture of the pair together.

Hundreds of other tributes have begun to pour in for the musician, including from Trivium drummer, Alex Bent. “I don’t have words, to call him an inspiration would be an understatement,” he wrote on Twitter. “Countless hours studying every move behind the kit . I owe so much to Joey Jordison and could never imagine being where I am today without his influence.”

Skin of Skunk Anansie wrote: “RIP @thejoeyjordison One of the most ferocious and entertaining bands we ever played with. What a drummer! Rock has lost another legend.”

“Shit. RIP to the brother Joey Jordison. Love you brother,” a message on Papa Roach‘s official Twitter read, while Frank Turner tweeted: “Very sad to hear about Joey Jordison. Never crossed paths but he was an incredible musician. 46 is no age. RIP.”

Metallica shared a picture of James Hetfield playing alongside Jordison, with the caption: “R.I.P. brother…”

Legendary Texas musician, singer, and songwriter Dusty Hill, of the world-famous trio ZZ Top, died at his home in Houston, Texas Wednesday, just days after leaving the road over a hip issue. Hill was 72.

Hill was the bassist and secondary singer for the self-proclaimed "little ol' band from Texas" for the last 50 years and was probably equally known for his blues licks as much as his chest-length beard.

The band's surviving members, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard confirmed Hill's death in a statement shared on Facebook and said their longtime friend and bandmate had died in his sleep.

Hill was born Joe Michael Hill in Dallas in 1949, grew up in Lakewood and attended Woodrow Wilson High School before he moved to Houston and joined ZZ Top in 1970.

Since that time the band has churned out a number of hits through the decades, including Sharp Dressed Man, La Grange, Legs, Tush, Gimme All Your Lovin', among others. After inducting a number of other acts, the band was enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in 2004.

The band was currently on tour and was to play in Simpsonville, South Carolina Wednesday night, though earlier this month the band said Hill was taking a short break and had returned to Houston to "address a hip issue."

Deadline notes that she was born in 1950 in Palo Alto, Calif. She got her career in show business started by working as an associate producer on the game show "Double Dare," originally hosted by the late Alex Trebek.

However, her first on-screen credit came by way of appearances in 1970s shows like "CHiPs," "Barnaby Jones," "The Incredible Hulk," "The Lazarus Syndrome," "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and "Hart to Hart."

From there, her career in TV kicked into high gear with appearances on more high-profile shows like "The Love Boat," "Cheers," "Fantasy Island" and "The A-Team" in the 1980s before getting her breakout role of bail bondswoman Terri Michaels in the TV series "The Fall Guy." The outlet reports she appeared in 65 episodes of the action drama between 1982 and 1985.

From 1985 to 1992, she appeared as public defender Christine Sullivan for 159 episodes of the comedy "Night Court."

The Hollywood Reporter notes that fans may also recognize Post from the 1998 movie "There’s Something About Mary," in which she played the mother of Cameron Diaz’s character. She also had appearances later in life on popular shows like "Chicago P.D." and "The Kids Are Alright." After her cancer diagnosis, she still pursued acting with a role in the Netflix comedy "Santa Clarita Diet."

Post is survived by her husband, producer and writer Michael A. Ross, and her daughters Kate Armstrong Ros and Daisy Schoenborn.

Through a system of volunteer surgeons, doctors, nurses and others, Emergency grew to operate in 19 different countries, running 60 hospitals, clinics and first aid posts and treating over 11 million patients, according to the group.

An anti-war campaigner, Strada spearheaded a campaign against antipersonnel landmines in the 1990s that resulted in Italy banning their production and use.

Emergency has operated in such conflict zones as Iraq, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Sudan, Yemen and the Central African Republic.

Last year, when the coronavirus epidemic threatened to overwhelm the fragile health system in Italy's poorest region of Calabria, Emergency set up a Covid-19 ward.

In a statement, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said Emergency represented Strada's "moral and professional legacy".

"He spent his life always on the side of the poor, working with professionalism, courage and humanity in the most difficult areas of the world," Draghi said.
