That's true, and I never got that. I'm sternly believe that there are always good bands out there. It's easy to say "Wull, bands these days aren't like they use to be" and go off on some tirade about the golden years of rock n' roll, but rock n' roll is as alive at it ever was. It's harder to find good music than it ever was, sure, but it's out there. It's important to never stop looking for it (to me, at least).

And really, there are a lot of great bands from past decades as well that just never made it big. If you can find obscure rock albums from the 60s' and 70s'. you can see what kept me occupied in high school. There is a lot of great stuff out there, but most people just skim from the top layer of public knowledge.

If you don't already own it, I strongly suggest that you buy and listen to The Who's Tommy.

Most tracks can not stand on their own, but as an album/opera/story it is almost unrivaled. (Dark Side of The Moon definitely gives it a run for it's money)

anybody who hasn't seen Tommy by now should be lined up and shot (not literally) :P

Tommy was a great movie, when seen it the context of its time (the early 70s), but Tommy the album is much better than Tommy the soundtrack.

I'll check them out, then. I just didn't care for "Tommy". I actually tend to enjoy rock operas, but it just didn't do it for me.

Tina Turner isn't in The Who? Wow. I could've gone forever without noticing that.

I suppose I just thought that there was no need for one to be released being that the album by The Who is basically telling the same story.
