![]() I'd just like a bit of clarification to this rule, as I suspect I may have broken it on a "technicality" just a few minutes ago, with good intentions in mind.
The concept of a shifting posting window was mentioned earlier in the thread. For example: If you post between 8 and 9 PM one day, you can't start posting again until 9 PM the next day at the earliest. This is all pretty clear, and also very inconvenient in my experience. As my posting window shifts, it eventually slips past bedtime, and since I have a normal job every day, I end up losing one day of posting every few days for this reason. That feels a little pointless to me. My question then is this: Is the intention with the rule that we should post once (as in, for one hour) per day, or is the intention that the exact minutes in which we post are important to make it easier for you to moderate? The former seems the most logical to me, but I can easily see the latter being the case. In fact, this is what you seem to say in the rules. I am very careful about my posting habits on PlanetSuzy, trying very hard not to step on any toes and to follow all the rules. Yet I'd very much like to update my regular threads once per day without waiting for what feels like a technicality. As an example, I found myself posting to one of my threads 22 minutes before 24 hours had passed just now, and ended up feeling bad about it while still not really feeling that I did anything wrong. Just to be clear, I'm not trying to start an argument here and will accept whatever answer is given with no protest. So, one hour posting window around the same time every day, or one hour posting window that shifts every day in a very inconvenient way, where every single minute counts? |

![]() So what you are suggesting is a 23-hour rule? If we count from your first post it is 24 hours, if we count from your last it is 23. A very good point.
Moderators are called moderators because they use their discretion, we check a posters history and see their posting style, number of thanks given and received, previous infractions and warnings. It also depends on the area you post in. PATM is so competitive that posters actually clockwatch. The areas I mod in are more relaxed but maybe your content is not suitable. |

![]() i have a suggestion:
would planetsuzy change the one-hour posting rule a litte bit. change One-Hour posting rules in 24h period to 23H. what difference does it make if planetsuzy set it 23H? I see no difference for mods/admins to moderate posts. no difference for VIP to update anytime they want, any number of posts they want. no difference to limit registered members bumping all day long, but hey, they got 40 posts in 48H. and they have to post them in 1H. but there is Only one difference: if i post at 18:00,and finish all my posts in 19:00 23H later,i can post again at 18:00,and finish all posts in 19:00 maybe you would say, just open 10 new windows, prepare all posts and submit all of them. if so, we can set one hour posting rule to 5 minute posting rule. 5 minutes is enough to submit 10 posts. well ,i believe the admin set it to 1 hour for reason, registered owns the right to let their threads appear in first page, but only have 1 hour to make it happen. if all members open 10 windows and submit them one by one, less than 10 minutes, all your update will go to 2nd page no matter how many content you have just updated. still, open multiple windows and submit is not practical,i believe MOST people don't do it this way. i believe MOST registered members will prefer 23H to 24H in this one-hour posting rule. hope admins can seriously consider this. |
