Tall order but I am going for the trifecta. I turn 35 on Monday and am 40 posts away from 1000 and 75 thanks away from 2000. I will hit all three but can I do it on Monday is the question?

As a 4th bonus I believe my designation will change to Forum Lord as well? Is there such a thing as a quadfecta lol?

I mention that I suspect some people might be using the thanks button with ulterior motives in mind, and that usage or non-usage of it might be creating problems and animosities where none need to exist... and then someone else uses those statements as an excuse to publicly shit on me completely out of turn, essentially PROVING MY POINT... and I'm the debbie downer here?

To put a close to the discussion of why the "Thanks" button I will explain the real reason why it was originally installed.

There was no "Thanks" button originally. Members actually posted replies to show their approval. The site was getting larger, so the "Thanks" button was installed so the staff could keep track of which posts had been checked. Staff would thank each post they checked, so that other section mods would know which posts had been looked at.

As the traffic increased, the decision was made to encourage members to use the "Thanks" button instead of making comments in threads and cluttering up threads with comments.

It was never intended to show approval or disapproval of posts because we already had the reputation button for that. Members themselves are the ones who added the approval/ disapproval meaning to it.

So, now that that is out of the way, let's try to get this thread back on topic.
